We are Dallas and Chris, brothers-in-law, terrible golfers, and founders of the USBGA. One random Thursday night, Dallas and I wanted to go out to get a beer, and we decided to try a local golf simulator. Two hours later, an unfinished round at Pebble Beach, and three buckets of beers later, we each walked out $90 lighter. On the ride home we agreed: “That was awesome… but we could’ve gotten our asses kicked at Broad Run for less, with a cart.” Something felt off. Golf is expensive; hitting into a screen doesn’t make it easier to justify.
Months later, at Dallas’s bachelor party in the Poconos, rain forced eight of us into one simulator room as consolation. It was crowded and slow moving, but we still had a blast - for $40 a person. Watching our brothers Pat and Joe dump ball after ball into the water at Pebble Beach alone made it worthwhile. As mentioned, we are terrible, but they really suck.
Those two experiences planted the seed for the USBGA, we just didn’t know it at the time. Chris had recently been researching what it would take to open a full golf simulator restaurant and bar and quickly saw the endless costs pile up, licenses, rent, equipment, food and alcohol. He then thought, what if we could deliver the same social indoor golf experience without the overhead, that is more fun and bring it directly to bars where people already gather? The goal was simple: Keep it affordable, fun, and competitive. Deliver incredible value to our bar partners and our golfers/members.
After countless hours of research and garage testing (and returns), we built a mobile setup we’re extremely proud of. Technology has closed the gap on high-end systems. A 4-handicap friend came over to test it out hitting in the driveway one night and had a blast. The USBGA offers access to over 40,000 courses from the likes of French Creek, Broad Run, Rolling Green, all the way to Aronomink, Augusta, Pebble Beach, and more, with accurate swing data, zero misreads, and video playback of club impact to see how you striped or flubbed your shot. The quality even surprised us. Partnering with the best local bars and restaurants means offering climate-controlled golf with instant access to great food and drinks, with an energy nobody can match.
We partner selectively with bars that have the right space and vibe, choosing locations strategically to ensure the energy is right. Supporting local bars is core to our mission. Chris grew up watching his dad run restaurants and bars and knows the grind it takes for a good operator. USBGA is a proud partner of each and cannot wait to tee it up!
USBGA is more than a league. It’s a welcoming community where people schedule to spend 2–2.5 hours a week with friends (old and new), hopefully drop a few strokes off their game, compete a little, grab a beer and a bite, and make it a regular night out. After 2020 showed how easily connection can vanish, we want to bring people back together at the bars, face to face, laughing, cursing, and occasionally cheering a pure shot.
We reject the idea that golf should shrink or stay exclusive. You don’t need a big budget or to not be your genuine true self to feel the joy of throwing a dart from 130 yards out. Whether you’re a +2 handicap or have never hit a ball in your life but have always wanted to, you belong. Come as you are. Bring friends. Make new ones. Improve a little (or a lot). No pressure, no pretension, just good people, local bars, great simulators, and the chance to chase that one pure shot.
Welcome to the USBGA. We’re glad you’re here. Grip it and rip it!
